It is well within the owner's right to delete posts. If anyone doesn't like that, then they are quite free to operate their own version of the Altamont Press discussion board, Trainorders, or whatever.

I recall founder Rob Carlson being annoyed with stupid postings that had little or nothing to do with railroading. In fact, he shut the site down for a while. The current owner has more tolerance but even he can eventually get fed up with stupid, personal-attack posts.

There is one person I know of, an industry insider with tremendous knowledge, that quit posting on this site long ago. "Too much garbage," he said.
