George-- Think about it.. The Cascade Tunnel had wire in it before-- no modification needed.
The round depressions in the ceiling to support the insulators for the wire are still there.

Also, there are electric locomotives pulling FREIGHT on the NEC route back East. Who manufactures those locomotives ???
