Almanor Railroad Finished............

Contractor was removing rails and ties in Chester on Sunday and the spike pullers had already done the causeway. Looks like weather permitting they will spend the week working toward Clear Creek Jct. Another one of our short lines related to the timber industry bites the dust. Red River Lumber's electified logging operation out of Westwood was one of a kind up through the begining of WW II. It will be hard to think of Chester without the railroad.
