Enronned ?

Trouble is - if they get "Enronned" - we will all go down with them. Knock one domino down, then they all go down. And more than even the domino game itself, the so-called economy is nothing but a set of dominos - on edge!

I once thought we had learned our lessons because of the 1929 crash and subsequent great depression. At least my economics professors all said so.

But then, starting in 1979, as the "roaring" 70s began to whimper, many of those regulatory checks and balances enacted in the 30s to prevent a repeat, got repealed; so that we could continue our high-rolling speculations and life-styles a while longer - just the same as in the roaring 20s. Then again in the "roaring" 90s, we finished repealing the rest of it - for the same reason - to prolong the fun.

I guess we didn't learn a thing - afterall! Or was it just that our leaders failed to lead (same as now); Not reminding us "there ain't no free lunch" - we simply must produce what we are to consume - and all markets must be balanced against each other in equal growth; or else all the dominoes fall down.

Who can we elect that will tell us the truth? - and actually do it? Actually I suspect we would refuse to hear 'em, wouldn't elect a single one.

We are our own worst enemy - and it will no good to keep blaming everybody else. It is us that will get "Enronned" - and perhaps deservedly!
