The base tunnels you mention are very,very interesting. I understand that the CHSRA study of the Grapevine option came up with only one feasible alignment which skirts a parkland, calls for 2 tunnels I believe, and would cross the San Andreas faultline at grade. Would this be in the vicinity of the route you recommend?

OPB - I wish I had your smarts. I voted for the hsr and have been kicking myself ever since. I think your analysis of the bonded debt is right on. As to financial reregulation there is great resistance, led by Rep. Eric Cantor, who has been apparently soliciting "änti" campaign contributions from said bailed-out institutions, now that the Supremes have said anything goes.
