Preliminary plans for the Pacific Rim Railroad are being prepared in Cottonwood CA. to the Surface Transportation Board for a tentative new route from Samoa at Humboldt Bay to Cottonwood and then onto Westwood (BNSF)and Susanville (UP). Route will avoid congested areas because it will be fully automated. Preliminary survey completed last Summer. Articles of Incorporation ready. Major investors are primarily other railroads including CSX.
