I have only traveled on Amtrak a few times compared to many readers of this board, but in October of '76, I stayed for several hours inside the City owned Power Plant in Carlin for #6.
There was no actual depot there, but the plant operator walked me out to a spot in the sagebrush & we waited in the dark until the train came. I then enjoyed a nice warm ride to Denver where I caught the RGZ back West.
