When the Sunset out of LA was like 14 hrs late into New Orleans and missed the Cardinal connection for DC.. A kind agent gave us a room in the transition sleeper to Chicago on the City of N.O. and a bedroom (upgrade from roomette) on the Capitol to DC.. So 14 extra hrs on the Sunset and an extra day with extra hundreds of miles thrown in... no hurry.. after all we ride the train to be on the train..not always so much just to get there...
