"Empire Builder" or "Pioneer" Portland to Chicago, followed by "Broadway Limited" Chicago to Philadelphia.

I made this trip at least four times between 1993 and 1995, before the "Broadway" disappeared, and enjoyed every trip -- even the time the rear coach of the "Builder" out of the Twin Cities separated from the train near Red Wing, Minn. due to ice in the coupler pocket (it was a very cold December 1993 and the coach, an ex-Santa Fe High-Level, had sat at the Minneapolis-St. Paul depot overnight after arriving on #7 from Chicago).

I went coach on the "Builder" or the "Pioneer", but always opted for the Slumbercoach on the "Broadway".
