I enjoyed the wonderful image. My late mother used to work at the Emporium in the fifties, sixties and seventies. I moved from San Francisco in 1972 so I didn't know the Emprorium was made into a mall. I thought some trendy company had purchased the building.

I rode the 1142 and her sisters on the N-Judah line for decades. Sometimes the motorman would floor the the PCC through the Sunset Tunnel, resulting in a ride filled with viloent bouncing and swaying back and forth.
