In Tom Moungovan, you will find the true meaning of the phrase, "Loyal friend." Both kind and humble, Tom has exposed me to people, places, experiences, and aspects of railroading that truly enriched my life. Most recently, Tom has truly inspired me with his courage and ability to stay positive under adverse circumstances. In Jack Neville, you will find a truly kind and considerate man, who is also humble about his talent and a has a real perspective about things in general. Like Tom, I admire Jack for his courage in the face of adversity. As others have noted, Doug Harrop is a truly nice guy, humble, and good natured. If I became half the photographer and half the engineer Doug was known for; I'd be a pretty lucky fellow. I value his advice in both my hobby and professional life.
I was incredilby fortunate to know Will Whittaker who more than just about anybody I know, defines the word "Gentleman." Kind, humble, and good natured, Will was the antithesis of the disrespectful behavior we see all to often today. Certainly the same could be said for Guy Dunscomb, and dear departed friend, Wes Hammond. Just being around these guys lifted my spirits. I like to think that the guys are occasionally watching from above, maybe grabbing a shot of my train and probably laughing at and enjoying some of my antics in the seat. Us foamers should occasionally think about rail enthusiasts like Will, Guy, and Wes, not just for their examples as artists, but simply as fine human beings in general and how we ought to conduct ourselves.
Finally, I'd have to mention some incredibly good friends and co-workers at bnSantaFe. Yep, I'd like to mention them but if I did, and they found their names had been uttered on a "foamer" web-site they would be obligated to hunt me down and kill me. Just the same, TD, MF, CF, DT, TB, NM, and a host of others, you know who you are. If only I could emulate the way you guys can run an engine, and the way you run your lives!
