The CCT was a winner this year of an RMI FastTrack award (www.railcarmgt.com) for innovative use of RailConnect technology in streamlining operations or providing exemplary customer service. As a result, they will appear on the 2007 FastTrack Calendar. A picture of the CCT 1502 and 1504 will appear as the July page. CCT is justifiably proud of receiving this very competitive award. Here is the text from the CCT entry:

“The Central California Traction Company promises you can “Ship Traction for Quick Action.” RailConnect reports help keep that promise. The reports give management the knowledge to plan effectively and operations the necessary instructions to move cars efficiently and safely. To further improve communications and efficiency, CCT is in the process of introducing all its customers to ShipperConnect.

Safety has also improved at CCT. Using TMS, CCT provides train crews and Port Police with a daily report of hazardous materials on line. If a problem occurs, all first responders have up-to-date information that will help them to identify any hazardous situation quickly.

CCT uses TMS blocking tables to automate all inbound interchanges. This saves time for operations personnel. The information gathered allows CCT to create reports for the Port of Stockton. The reports speed up inbound interchange processing and cut down on costs. With TMS, CCT’s monthly cars handled has increased form 900 revenue cars per month to over 2,800 with no increase in clerical man-hours.”
