I was fortunate enough to be fired before RA took over Railtex (an equally bad employer), but I would not invest a nickel in their lowlife operations. Investing in their corporation gives them funds to do to others what they did to us when they bought the Central Vermont Railway. The only reason they hired any of us longtime workers was because we fought the sale for 15 months and the ICC required them to hire their first group of workers from CV people. Ninety percent of us were later fired for spurious reasons or no reason at all (legal for non-union, "at-will" workers). Those of us who organized a union back on the property went first.. We've all gone on to "real" RR jobs and are doing much better (3x the money) than we would have had we stayed.

These shortline conglomerates are not the homespun operations they claim to be, but in fact are usually run by severed management losers from the class ones, who have the same bonehead ideas they had on the big roads - only they have very few restrictions on them now to keep them in check.
