Rail America (it's dead quiet)

What gives, aren't they the largest shortline conglomerate and operate all over the west coast, (big operations too). Has to be some consequences to discuss?

The article says something about "Alternative" asset management or something like that. Are their finances that bad?

I had heard one of the other conglomerates was to buy them, apparently not. Perhaps this is just a stop between now (RA) and later (breakup to other shortline operators).
