The V&T Project Coordinator (Commission, not VTRR) tells a story that a German came to ride the V&T and said he was riding the top ten shortlines in the world. In the article and at meetings, he quotes the German as saying the V&T is the only short-line railroad worth riding in the top ten category.

Also, I distiguish that the V&T is in the Top 10 of the most Famous Shortlines in the world..
Gee, uhhh, I guess the Durango and Silverton isn't
famous enough. I asked him for the top ten list and he hasn't responded. I wonder if you all would make suggestions as to your favorite famous
shortlines, US or world-wide.
Since we're talking shortlines, I don't know if Copper Canyon qualifies ;>)
