The Eagle Pither plant West of Vale is still operating. The line between Emmett and Nampa
was leased to INPRR. As soon as the abandonment was approved U.P. backed rail trains in from
Nampa to the top of Jenness hill and loaded the rail up in 1/4 mile sections and headed east with each train load. The line to Cascade is still intact although the line is blocked by
a major slide above Banks before the bridge over the North Fork of the Payette River.
