R.I.P. (whereever you are) to my old transistor radio that brought me Russ Hodges and Lon Simmons and the countless hundreds of Giants' games during the late 60s and the 70s. You were remembered last night. All those years of 2nd place finishes followed by the "bad" years.

To Tom M.: I remember one Friday night game against the Dodgers, hearing Barry Bonds's dad Bobby--playing in his very first game--hitting a grand slam--then listening in one night on Gaylord Perry's no-hitter..............

I watched the game last night with my youngest daughter and told her of the transistor radio story--she got all teary and sentimental (ick).
