W&I Grain/UP Fairfield Local?

Just a quick question about railroading in the northern palouse. I've lived in spokane for the last 7 years and as somewhat of a railfan/amateur photographer, I'm looking for info on the W&I operations from Palouse, WA north to Marshall and operations on the UP branch that runs south from Spokane.
Just a few basic questions about the UP branch first. I know the train only runs a few times a week, but I'm curious as to what the most common days/times are? And where does it run to? I know there's a junction along Elder Rd just southeast of Freeman, does the train usually head east or south? (obviously a scanner might help me here, UP frequency in the area?) Also, the general makeup of the train - aka, is the train usually worth the trip?
About the W&I now, I've heard of and seen videos of BNSF unit grain trains being filled at Spangle and Oakesdale, I'm curious as to the typical days/times for those trains, and also I'm curious about what the best days/times for non-BNSF operations between Marshall and Palouse are?
All info much appreciated, thanks!
