Re: W&I Grain/UP Fairfield Local?

I haven't seen any grain traffic this year to Fairfield. Most, if not all of that, is now being trucked to Spangle to be included in the W&I Shuttle trains. Those trains run a very unpredictable schedule--depending on the BNSF connection, a planned movement out, and conditions at the export docks. The regular W&I train is generally south to Palouse one day, sidetrips to Fallon/Wilson and onto the WIM over the next couple of days, and a return to Marshall. Their basic operations can vary too.

Plummer Turns usually run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. some recent (but infrequent) moves to fertilizer distributors on the Fairfield line may have taken place on Tuesdays or Thursdays.
