McCormick & Baxter 202 is still where it has been for many years, at Bob Kirtlan's Silverbend Farm. That's about a mile north of Clarksburg on the west bank of the Sacramento River.
And Bob does still run it, he only runs it on weekends leading up to Halloween. Everyone says it is old and very leaky, but it has run for years.
The 202 ran for many years on the Mountain Quarries railroad on the edge of Auburn Ca. That is where M&B got it from, in 1947? But I was told that M&B had moved it up to their Oregon plant, that's where the guy who bought it got it from. And he then moved it to Virgina City where it became the first steamer to run on the revived V&T. It was used there for the 1983 year.
A funny point, for years Mr. Kirtlan didn't have clue as to it's heritage, he thought it came from the sugar mill right there in Clarksburg. Mr. Kirtlan is also storing a disassembled Shay and the "Edison" 0-4-0T, and a few pieces of rolling stock, including a few cabeese.
