I don't know if I qualify as a Pittsburgh Railways Historian, but I found out the following:

The 23 route served Neville Island.

If you're in the area, check out the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington, PA (south of Pittsburgh)

The museum store sells a 1959 map for $4.00 as well as a Pennsylvania Street Railway Atlas which might have more detail than the 1949 & 1959 system maps.
