Running a Red

I was in Tacoma today and heard over the radio a Tacoma Rail transfer train engineer (baretables) call in to the Tacoma Yardmaster that he'd rolled past a red signal on the dock lead at the 21st st interlocking. He missed by about 12 feet.
After some instructions about not moving the train and contacting the dispatcher, a gaggle of vehicles showed up. Shortly thereafter he was removed from the train and new engineer took over.
I felt bad for the guy, he needed all the headroom he could get to clear the other end of the yard lead and misjudged his stopping distance. What is likely to be the price he pays for his mistake?
