No Rich, I believe that it was the only one that was ordered with slightly thicker tires to
give her 45" drivers. This lowered her t.e. from the usual 37,500 lbs. to 36 and change. I
don't have the figure right in front of me. Her other distinguishing feature was the extra
capacity built into the oil tank by raising it up to the cab roof between the rear windows,
somewhat like the Quincy 2 has and also the Pickering Shay 11. Apparantly, you will not
find this feature any more as someone has decided to cut the addition off for more
comfort for the crew while backing. Too bad as I doubt that there is anyone still alove that
would remember the 4 in her as built appearance. So much for historical preservation.
PLA accepted a monetary grant for restoration of the 4. I don't feel that this was right
to do.
