I believe SMART is going down the tubes. Any vote to pass bonds will probably fail in this economy. Board member Judy Arnold and the folks from Novato have made it there mission to see SMART fail. SMART will not run by 2014 ,it can't afford a bike path , it's paying over 100 grand on at least 10 or more employees. It's general manager has quit other employees are moving on. It's DMU is ill conceived and the whole plan is is too fancy (expensive). It has created animosity with the freight operator and it's customers. It promised the voters a transit system it can't deliver without huge cost overruns and added years of delay. It's people and system is patterned after TRImet in Portland. This is not Portland
