If several railroads could not make a go of this line, always fighting the effects of weather, how could any entity possibly build, much less maintain a trail? Hikers would not provide anywhere near the past revenue of the NWP and its successors.
I have said this before...hopefully something will come of a reasonably sized tourist line around Eureka. As to trails, I'm not against them, but in this day in age, I wonder just where the money would come from to build and keep one in repair?
