If you pull off Wash. Hwy. 506 into Vader, there's a side road that parallels the tracks just north of the grade crossing.

Turn right after you cross the tracks and head north on this road; you'll arrive at the Vader crossovers, with good sightlines in both directions.

Another good spot is just south of Kalama. You can exit I-5 at the Todd Road interchange. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and cross the tracks to follow the road between the tracks and the Harvest States grain complex. About a mile north on the left is a park with available parking.

Here you also have good sightlines in both directions.
