Very nice shots. I have a couple of somewhat off topic questions though. Every time I have seen mainline steam there are diesels attached, perhaps for increased reliability or track owner requirement ? In the second set, the BNSF train has DPU units, what is the logic behind this ? I understand helpers at the rear on steep grades as a matter of convenience, but it seems to me that HP is HP regardless of where it is placed. It also would seem to complicate the assembly/disassembly of said trains. I am always puzzled when I see trains in the flatlands with distributed power.
