Post CR&IP makeover, the LA&SL could almost be considered a secondary mainline. Besides, this should not be the point. If the railroads are running "too many freights," they should have too much money to keep repeating the tired old corporate line that passenger trains "impact" their operations. Yes folks it is obviously better for America to haul cheap plastic Chinese crap like Happy Meals Prizes across the desert in double stacks, than taxpaying US Citizens in comfortable and safe passenger trains.
