GPS is all fine and dandy, except that even though it can tell you within 50-100 feet of where the front and rear of a train is, it can't tell you which track it's on in MMT. The Military version is much more accurate and overcomes this dificiency, but the Mil isn't about to make it available to the general public (which just could include al-bin U No Who da). ANd last but not least, GPS, by its very nature, has no broken rail provisions.
