The Feds turned off "selective availability" for GPS nearly 10 years ago. My little tiny Garmin eTrex is accurate to within 33 feet. Professional GPS applications, such as for land surveyors, is accurate to within .1 of a foot. That's right, one-tenth of a foot, or, an inch and one quarter.
The Alaska Railroad was working on some type of collision avoidance system within the last 3-5 years. I do not believe it is deployed. Anyone else know about this system?
