Is this Tolmach's personal view in his CRF privately owned publication the CRN, or is it TRAC's official view?

FACT: The CHSRA is a political mess, planning disaster, and financial cesspool right now. The CHSRA needs serious reforms to assure accountability, proper planning, and cost effective investments. CHSRA, as it is currently constituted, is an ongoing "train wreck".

And then there are some of the so-called rail "advocacy" groups, with divided leadership, little discipline, and splintered little factions, each with there own uncompromising "vision", which have been working overtime to make themselves into near self parodies of effective advocacy, with little or no impact on real policy outcomes to improve rail passenger services?

I see he ended up finally losing some of the bull he proposed to use in the article to try to link the viaducts by inference to the China accident. And, so he just did a negative story seperately on the Chinese HSR disaster. Yes, China is an corrupt communist regime, and the hubris, incompetence, and possible corruption is very similar in appearnace to the hubris and incompetence at the CHSRA. So what do you "advocate" doing about that? Oh, you propose your own fantasy system, as bereft of analysis, as the CHSRA's fantasy?

Was there any "news" in the CRN that had anything positive to say, or offer new dirctions, or propose real solutions? Of course not. Why would more service and higher ridership on many of our corridors be anything worth reporting? No, but we can talk about how Mica and Shuster hate Amtrak? But, not what to do about it?

All of the CRN's stories are pretty much negative, anti high speed, anti reform, anti-LOSSAN restructuring, anti just about everything else, and with the view that everything in rail passenger today that is being proposed, is obviously completely wrong, in the editorial world according to Rich.

Thus, the Thomas haters should just love the latest edition of the CRF's (not TRAC's)CRN.

So, of course you like it? ......
