TRAC doesn't necessarily agree with everything Rich T writes but the Board has a say in what gets published, so you can infer that TRAC considers some parts of the HSR to be a little foolish. CRN offers to publish alternative points of view, but rarely have we been confronted with an actual article that could serve the readers.

As far as incremental improvements to services outside the HSR route, CRN has covered the ACE routes (contributed by me) and has been rather excoriated by some readers for a focus on too many SoCal services, so CRN must be hitting some other nerves.

I'd like to see only one west coast rail advocacy group, merging all of the various groups into a common entity, but sometimes the common denominator that you have to accept to do that leads to a vanilla buttercream candy of limited voice and effectiveness.
