Porter s/n 8096 built 1947 as USG #1203 was probably the first narrow gauge 6-axle 6-motor diesel-electric, at least in North America (originally built with a Cooper-Bessemer FWL6T like the GE 70 ton). There were WWII era standard-gauge six-axle six-motor units (the Alco RSD-1 for the US Military) and at least a couple of earlier I-R/Alco (?) boxcabs.
WP&Y also had a couple GE 4-wheel 25 tons - everything else (diesel) was six-motor six-axle. I think the railcar is diesel-hydraulic.
