Brazil is an interesting country - they have meter and 5'-3" broad gauge, and little if any "standard" gauge. There is an iron ore hauler that bought meter gauge 8-axle SD45s from EMD - designated as DDM45. Reportadly the railroad refined the SD45 and eliminated some of the issues found in the US. Some of these have reported to have gone to Mozambique and converted to 42".
Subsequently, GE built some B+B-B+B units. Since then, Brazilian railroads have been buying used US locos and converting them to broad gauge, and some to B+B-B+B with tunnel motors being an apparent favorite. They still operate a large fleet of GE 70 tons (ballasted heavier on road trucks) now re-enigned with Alco 6-251, and some meter gauge C+C 70 tons (like US Potash had) now with CAT engines.
