My understanding is the same, capacity is greater and can be expanded easier, on rail. The Orange Line busway in LA is considered a huge success, but many times of the day the busses are absolutely full to capacity. Had it been built as a rail line, shorter headway and equipment with a greater capacity could have been utilized.
