I'm curious as to what percentage of containers being loaded on to trains from trucks at Lathrop are coming directly off of boats. As stated already, the UP does run a shuttle from Oakland to Lathrop that is filled out with loads originating in Lathrop and sent east to Chicago. Anything not coming from the Port of Oakland is/was already using a truck over the freeways. Albeit for a shorter distance.
