An excellent September 2006 picture by John W. Van Amburg of this bridge in the rare raised position was published in the April 2007 issue of the Pacific Northwest Chapter, National Railway Historical Societies's Trainmaster newsletter. The bridge was built in 1913 during the construction of the Point Defiance Line. It consists of a 99-foot double track Strauss Direct Lift Span on concrete piers with 80 piles under each pier. The bridge was originally built with 26 spans of double track pile approach but most of this has been replaced by fill.
