If I remember right, the RRR fund WAS robbed during the Nixson administration, as I remember, Pres. Ford balked at having to pay back the money taken out of the RRR fund. As far as seeking employement in the RR industry after you have retired from such, you may work as a consultant, not paying into RRR. and, as you say, limitations on earnings disappear after reaching full retirement age.
