The lead time on magazines is several weeks. SNAP did not get the WURR contract until January 5th, so there is a good chance that TRAINS was already headed for print before the WURR news broke, even though SNAP and WURR had been in negotiations since September.
It does bring up the question why SNAP (Court Hammond et al) was trying to sell the assets at Yreka the same time they were negotiating for the WURR contract (specifically the #19 which was a big part of their WURR proposal); and if the #19's legal issues have been fully resolved allowing it to move to Oregon on time.
The Rocky Mountain Mining Museum is listed as a non-profit, yet the actual operating company of the Yreka Western is for-profit. Does anybody know who the other partners are in any of these organizations other than Court Hammond is involved?
SNAP was supposed to offer fishing trains for the Steelhead fishing season, but their hasn't been any mention except for the possiblity on a local guide's website. Typically the first excursion train of the season is Mother's Day, which is still a ways off and has more of a local market. I haven't noticed any other promotion for SNAP's new expanded schedule yet.
