Indeed. This is the same strategy Mr. Hammond used back in 2008 when facing foreclosure and the loss of the note to the 19. It was listed on Ozark Railcar for $650,000 in October of 2008. If he has to put the locomotive up for sale because of legal and/or financial issues, list it at a ridiculously high price that nobody in their right mind would ever pay for it. That way he still gets to keep the locomotive, but is still being compliant. This is the same situation now, albeit nearly $300,000 more. He has no intention to sell the locomotive this much is quite clear.

Hopefully the WURR folks up in Elgin will finally WAKE UP and cancel this deal with Hammond. At least one person up there has to at least glance at a Trains magazine, as it is sure evident they haven't even done a simple Google search on Hammond, the YW, or any of the serious financial issues surrounding both.
