Would somebody please enlighten us all as to why somebody would spend $900,000 on a running steam locomotive when they will never recover the cost of aquiring said locomotive at that price not counting transporting the locomotive. No wonder the Kepner engines are in the shape that they are thanks to Marty and his price gouging. I think it would be great for a business to make a penny or two off the sale of a locomotive but $900,000 for a running 2-8-2 that isnt coming off a fresh form 4 and complete running gear rebuild doesnt seem preservation minded but seems more like greed.
