The tunnels on the Siskiyou line are in deplorable shape. Many are curved; some are un - lined or timber - lined; all are in need of extensive rehab before anything larger than Plate C equipment can run through them. Same can be said for much of the line, with its' many sharp curves, old bridges, and jointed rail. I doubt the truss bridges will withstand the current 283,000 gross weight cars. With little or no use in the last 3 years, I'm sure the deferred maintenance of the Right of Way has added to the lines' woes.
