Here are just a few of UP's demands (as contained in an email I received):


The negotiations completely blew up yesterday in Phoenix between the UP and the BLET. Here is SOME of what the UP wanted ......

Elimination of all Blue Print Agreements....

Having to re-bid your own job in every week...

Elimination of all Extra Boards...

Robinson Rule.... You lay off for any reason, your job goes with you...

Pool mile regulation at 2900-3200 miles per month...

These two things would eliminate hundreds of Engineer positions...

Elimination of make whole payments. With no Extra Board, pools would be shoved to fill jobs and you get what you earn...

A "Bonus Plan" which would be based on 11 incentives, including the number of trespasser suicide reductions etc... So if you run over someone it goes against your bonus...
