I had never heard of, seen pictures of, or personally seen evidence of 70-tonners on the NWP (I grew up in that neck of the woods), although I wasn't aware of the local railroad scene until about 1965. However, a few years ago a photo showed up in a NWP Historical Society newsletter of a 70-tonner switching in Sebastopol on the P&SR. I always thought the P&SR had gone directly from their 44-tonners to SP SW8s. I, too, would love to know more.
