As well as the barrel headlights performed vs. early sealed beams, they had an achilles heal in that the bulb had to be adjusted in the reflector ( in & out ) for it to give a full field. ( Kinda like a Mag Lite flashlight. ) This adjustment was necessary quite often, resulting in the Mechanical Depts souring on them.
