San Bernardino Sun will be publishing an article about Chard Walker
Last Sunday, the Riverside Press Enterprise published a Don Sims photo of Chard Walker handing up orders to "The Chief" at Summit, from 1953.
Hopefully there will be others.
By the way, Chard was not the Agent at Summit. He was a telegrapher or train order operator. Chard also worked at Victorville and Barstow. He did some single tracking on the Needles District and old First District copying orders out of telephone booths.
