Very heart wrenching about the trials and tribulations about the last 40 years in the lumber industry but not the truth.

The media will not write about problems their own (liberals)have created. The protests of the 70s and 80s affected alot of the industry as the NIMBYS would not allow the loggers and millers to cut or mill the product. Laws were created to drive the industry into a virtual downward spiral and self destruction.

Many RR lines in the PNW were driven into financial problems (SP MILW and others) as an end result of a dying or should I say a murdered industry. The shift of product ended up coming from Canada and other countries.

Where will the NIMBYS attack next, maybe the coal fields. They have already shifted most of the manufacturing from the US. The election of 2008 will put the finishing touches on whats left of the lumber industry in the US.
