On an interesting note then President-elect Jimmy Carter used the railroad station in Plains, Georgia which is his hometown as his campaign headquarters where he held his election morning victory party on Wednesday, November 3, 1976 and even chartered an Amtrak Train from it called the "Peanut Special" to take him and his supporters to the Inaugeration on Tuesday, January 18, 1977.

Today that museum serves as a museum that commemorates his presidency.
