After our first night in our new house in the Berryessa district in 1979, I awoke to a single note F unit horn! I hadn't realized we were close to the WP - what a treat.

Unfortunately, times change, and there is no business or prospect for any on the branch. It's mostly houses that will never receive a rail shipment, and tech companies don't ship much software by rail either! The packing houses are long gone. It was nice while it lasted, but the South Bay is a very different place in 2012 than in 1979 or 1959.
