Hello Dr. Zarkoff:
Read with interest your 07.02.2012 post which mentioned the Nevada Copper Belt No. 21. I have an HO model of this car that was produced by Model Engineering Works about 50-years ago. I have put considerable effort in to rebuilding it, including totally new trucks, motor and drive. I am about ready to paint it. Like most hobbyists, I had assumed that it saw service on the NCB in the green paint scheme that it now wears. You mention that while on the NCB, it would have been working in red livery, the car color on all the Orem railways. Can you point me to a photo(s) of the car when painted red? Of course any such photos would be black and white. Any clues as to the shade of red? The color of markings and lettering? I am interested in this car for historical reasons and would very much like to finish it off correctly in its livery of service.
Thank you for reading this. Your response would be valued and appreciated,
Terrence
